IMO you are better off doing 7 UWorld blocks in a row or the Free 120 + an NBME if you want a (presumably) closer test day experience. If you're stuck in Step purgatory hell with nothing better to do and you paid for it, then by all means give it a whirl, but please do not go out of your way to purchase this practice exam. Thus, this test is useless for gauging your score progression. However, there is no direct prediction for a Step score, and I really struggled to find anything online that gave me one. This was the only helpful thing, as I could tell how I did as blocks progressed. You get a percentage at the end, along with a percentage for each block. As an example of a poor answer, a patient had obstructive lung disease, and elevated TLC and RV were both choices. When they were in scope, I felt like they were much more direct than UWorld or NBME, so I felt like I had an easier time going through 7 blocks at once and it was difficult to tell if I really feel like I'm prepared for the real thing. I won't go into much specific detail here in case someone wants to take it. The questions are poorly written, and poorly answered.Since I was at home, I just let the block timer run to get my planned break time, but again, I was trying to mimic test day as much as possible. My break plan was based around the fact I tend to finish blocks with a little spare time, but Kaplan only gives you 45 minutes, even if you get through the tutorial quickly. Although i’ve noticed a trend that people that do very well on uwsa1 tend to score very high on the actual test, however uwsa2 is closer to the actual exam. Unused block time is not added to your break timer. You’re better off using that time to do more questions if score is your concern unless you’re legitimately worried about failing. The screen is a weird square for some reason, which isn't a huge deal, but isn't like test day. I had trouble getting my highlighter function and cross off function to work smoothly, and would often highlight three whole lines, which I then had to undo and redo my original intended highlights. Took the new and old free 120s which are currently the most predictive and representative of the actual exam imo. I was scoring consistent 70s on my random 40 uworld blocks with a 73 overall average. I took the simulated exam 1 today to try and work on my stamina, and wow what a load of trash. Uworld is harder than the actual test and if you can master uworld it will make the test seem very doable.
